There are high officials in China and the US who understand that the only way to achieve rapid phase-down of emissions is via a rising carbon fee, which would be made near-global via border duties on products from non-cooperating countries. It will gain approval of conservatives only if the fee is not used to grow the government.

One more step to undermine the dominance of the dollar
Following earlier posts, Russia is taking steps to protect itself from any future dollar or euro sanctions. Moscow boasts the world’s 5th biggest foreign exchange reserves and the 6th largest gold reserves. In total, the assets amount to over $1.5 trillion.
