Neville,
You and I both know that looking after the welfare of animals is just the right thing to do.
That’s why I wanted to tell you that this week we announced that Labor will ban animal testing for cosmetics and ban the sale of cosmetics tested on animals in Australia.
We’ve adopted this policy after conducting a public policy consultation in which 92% of people said they wanted to see this ban. It was clear from the thousands of submissions we received that Australians believe animals shouldn’t have to suffer for cosmetics.
We’re putting forward our policy as a private member’s bill in parliament. We hope the government gives members from all parties the opportunity to speak on this policy. It’s time the government does its part to ensure that animal testing ends in Australia.
Help us build broader public support for our policy and tell the government that Australians want this policy — can you sign our petition to call on the government to support our bill?
With your support we can see this plan through.
