US Secretary of State told a group of journalists when the United States invaded Iraq, “this will be a war that will not end in your lifetimes.” The vision of the project for the New American Century which backed George W Bush’s bid for presidency, is that the United States will control the world economy, by controlling the world’s oil supplies. The backing of independence movements in Georgia and Chechnya has deprived Russia of the gateway to Middle Eastern oil, and prevented it building a planned pipeline to China. Combined with manouvers in Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel, it is clear that this plan is being put into effect. The Indonesian Government last week arrested more than 500 Papuans following mass protests across the nation opposing fifty fifth anniversary of Indonesian rule on Monday 19th December. Over half a million people are known to have been killed by the Indonesian government in those 55 years and thousands of activists remain in prison and enforced labour camps. Last week’s rallies called for full membership for West Papua of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG), an international lobby group working on behalf of the island nations of the Pacific against colonial imperialism.
The US is flooding Syria with weapons that end up in the hands of ISIS
The US Senate last week voted to supply terrorist militias in the Middle East with anti-aircraft missiles, causing widespread concern among allies, enemies and moderate Middle-Eastern governments.
The resolution is part of a $US619 billion plan for military action in the Middle East before Trump comes to power. The plan continues the strategy of opposing the emerging alliance between Turkey, Russia, Syria, Iraq and Iran while also claiming to be fighting a war on terror.
The US is propping up an increasingly unpopular regime in Saudi Arabia as part of this plan. Alliances between moderate Sunni Muslim nations and the Saudi people are weakening the Saudi family hold on absolute power that has enabled them to fund terrorists while selling oil to the West.
ISIS has so many US weapons that it has been selling them on facebook.
The people of Saudi Arabia have long accepted the bargain imposed by the founding king, Abdul Aziz al-Saud, in which they are disenfranchised but acquiesce in political powerlessness as the state provides them with security and a comfortable life. Now they are being asked to do more for themselves while the government does less, regardless of the price of oil.
Congress Votes To Give Jihadists Anti-aircraft Missiles
The Senate passed a bill that puts every American who travels by plane at risk. It is among the stupidest pieces of legislation ever written – to provide shoulder-launched ground-to-air missiles to lunatic jihadists who will undoubtedly use them to take down American or Israeli jetliners. The argument that these Islamic militants are fully vetted is complete nonsense as both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal have repeatedly shown. Rebel groups “have entered into battlefield alliances with the affiliate of al Qaida in Syria formerly known as al Nusra to render the phrase ‘moderate rebels’ meaningless.”

Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte announced in Beijing this week a new strategic relationship with China and an end to the close military ties with the USA.
“America has lost now. There are three of us against the world, China, Philippines and Russia. It is the only way”, he told an international trade conference.
Meanwhile in the Philippines police have killed over 3,000 drug users and dealers in the 100 days since he came to power, publicly displaying the bodies with signs warning people not to deal in drugs. He criticises the USA for hypocricy in the war on drugs.
During the presidential election campaign Duterte promised to fill the Bay of Manila with the corpses of 100,000 criminals should he come to power.

Mr Smith’s legislation requires any resolution to deploy forces overseas to be approved by both houses of parliament.

Turkey and Russia signed a deal last week securing a gas pipeline from Russia through Turkey to Europe. The deal makes Turkey the gateway for European fossil fuels to travel from the source.
Military analysts note that the USA is fighting to retain control of fossil fuels in Syria. Were Russia and Turkey to gain free access to Syrian fuel the USA would be cut out of a large section of the European market.

A region already marred by pipeline geopolitics gets another one! The West is not going to be amused by this new bonhomie between Russia and Turkey. Their animosity will be played out in the battle fields of Syria, while the people of Syria suffer. We don’t know what’s in the offing there after.
