Draw the Line

Dear NEVILLE

Together, we’ve started something big!  As one of the people fighting with us to protect the Great Barrier Reef, I wanted you to be one of the first to know about what’s happening: Our fight for the Reef is going global.  Check it out here and sign our petition to world leaders.

For more than 15 years, we’ve worked to protect the Great Barrier Reef. Together we’ve made huge progress already, shifting the balance and winning hearts and minds.

If we don’t step it up another notch, this year could see the start of massive dumping and dredging projects that will push the Reef closer to a breaking point.

So far, Australian and Queensland governments have ignored warnings from the World Heritage Committee – so we’re asking for the world’s help to get them to listen. That’s why today, supporters from the WWF global network, operating in 80 countries around the world, are joining you to fight for the Reef.

It’s been done before – and it works. Last year, WWF supporters just like you, drew a line in the sand and united to protect Virunga, Africa’s oldest and most biodiverse national park.

Now we need to draw a line around the Great Barrier Reef. Can you please click here and sign our petition to world leaders demanding the protection of the Reef?

I DRAW THE LINE ►

There are a hundred reasons to protect the Great Barrier Reef: the plethora of magnificent corals, sealife, birds and animals, the billions of dollars and thousands of jobs, and the millions of people who hold the Reef dear to their hearts.

But the reality is, no matter what your reason, we have to draw a line as a matter of principle.

As custodians of the Reef for future generations, we must take action to protect it. Please click here to draw the line with us and protect the Reef.

Thanks for taking a stand.

P.S. It’s moments like this when WWF supporters come together to protect our planet that we really shine. Once you’ve signed the petition at wwf.org.au/reef, please forward this email to friends and family and ask them to support us too.
