Posco-MMTC deal likely: A week ago, New Delhi’s Minerals and
Metals Trading Corp (MMTC) announced it was in discussion with Posco to
supply it with liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a regassification plant
MMTC intends to build at Paradip.

Aust LNG being sought: Besides Posco’s giant steel mill, MMTC’s
potential LNG customers include the fertiliser and electricity supply
industries, and India’s Financial Express reported that the State-owned company was “in advanced stages of discussions with Australian companies to source LNG”.
