Web Clip About Today – The Hottest Summer Shoe Trends Coal and Health – You’re invited to the launch of this groundbreaking new report Inbox x Hunter Community Environment Centre via sendgrid.info 12:37 PM (30 minutes ago) to me Hunter Community Environment Centre Dear Nevile, I’d like to invite you to attend one of the upcoming community forums we’re hosting to launch a ground-breaking new report on the health impacts of the coal industry on the communities of the Hunter Valley. The report will be called “Lessons from one valley for the world: Coal and Health in the Hunter”, and it’s been put together by leading experts from around the country, led by the Climate and Health Alliance (CAHA). This report gives us, for the first time, dollar figures on the cost of treating the physical and psychological health impacts of coal mining, transportation and production. This includes the health costs associated with air pollution from coal sources in Hunter communities, as well as the social costs of carbon emissions produced from Hunter Valley coal. We believe that this report should be in every household in the Hunter Valley and impacted by the coal chain. It’s that important. We want to make sure that this report gets the exposure it deserves, but we need your help. Will you attend or help out with one the public forums we are holding on coal and health? You can find out about these events here. Will you help spread the word to promote the report and its findings? Let us know here. Will you make a donation to help fund printing, promotion and distribution? Your contribution will mean we can reach more people with information about what the expansion of coal mining means for our health and environment, and continue to campaign for the changes we need to safeguard our communities. As part of the launch, we’re hosting coal and health public forums in the Hunter Valley in the last week of February. 25th Feb, 6pm – Muswellbrook Workers Club 26th Feb, 6pm – Singleton Diggers Club 27th Feb, 6pm – Newcastle Town Hall All of the details, including how to reserve your place at these forums, are available online at www.coalandhealth.org. This site will also be where the report is published on the 23rd of February, so make sure you check back in then. Looking forward to seeing you at one of launch events – I hope you can make it. Kind regards, John Mackenzie. Hunter Community Environment Centre www.coalandhealth.org
