Report on retail competition: In its report on “Monitoring the development of energy retail competition in South Australia” ESCOSA said this compared to just under 50 per cent in a 2004 survey.
Findings on range of quarterly bills: The survey of 808 households in metropolitan Adelaide and 403 in regional South Australian areas found:
• 22 per cent with quarterly bills under $150 (15 per cent in 2004);
• 22 per cent with quarterly bills between $151-$200 (19 per cent in 2004);
• 16 per cent with quarterly bills between $201-$250 (15 per cent in 2004);
• 15 per cent with quarterly bills between $251-$300 (18 per cent in 2004);
• 20 per cent with quarterly bills between $$301-$500 (27 per cent in 2004); and
• 4 per cent with quarterly bills between $501-$700 (6 per cent in 2004).
Quarterly bills not given for small businesses: The survey also covered 410 small business customers, 253 in metropolitan Adelaide and 157 in regional areas. However, no comparisons of quarterly bills were given for them.
