Dear Neville,
Tony Abbott is still the leader of the Liberal Party, but only just. But let’s be honest, it doesn’t really make any difference. Even if they were to change leaders, the policies would stay the same. The petrol tax would still be there, the GP tax would still be on the cards, and they’ll still try to pass their unfair budget.
We’ve just successfully turfed out anti-jobs governments from Victoria and Queensland. We’ve been fighting them on issues that matter to us.
The time to stand up and fight back is now.
On the 4th of March we will join with unions around the nation on a national day of action to fight for our rights.
When asked about the government’s budget, Finance Minister Mathias Cormann said “No minister has said it is unfair.” This is an entire government that is out of touch with the Australian people.
Whether you’re worried about the GP tax, upset about the petrol tax, or concerned about their other attacks on workers, let’s march together on the 4th of March and step up the fight.
We aren’t going to stand by while they destroy our living standards. Make sure you don’t either.
In unity
Michael O’Connor
CFMEU National Secretary
